Aricent Interview Questions – Candidate Experience
Candidate Name: Mahathi Malhotra
Branch: CSE
Selection Status: Selected
Aricent had come to our campus for placement. The entire process took 2 days. I had interacted with my seniors about the Aricent campus drive and how to get selected. The main advice they gave me was to prepare well for the Aricent online test as this is an elimination round and a lot of students(almost 80%) get eliminated in this process. Knowing this, I knew where to focus my preparation strategy. With online placement preparation sites like m4maths and Faceprep, i strengthened my aptitude enough to gain an advantage in the aptitude test.
The Round 1 – aptitude test: The questions that came in our test were of medium level, not very tough. The only problem was the lack of sufficient time. There was only 1 minute to solve a single question, making us really worked up during this 100-minute test. I think I was able to attempt at least 85% questions with accuracy. The results came in the night on our emails and I was shortlisted for the next round – GD
Round 2 – Group Discussion: This round took place the next day. One group had 10 students for the GD. Our topic was “Impact of technology on jobs” which was a fairly easy topic to put points about since it has been in the news a lot lately. The moderators, I think were more concerned about the communication and etiquettes of the candidates that the discussion. There are a certain set of rules for the GD which everybody should be aware of. Shouting, arguing and debating is a bad way to approach a GD.
Round 3 – Technical Interview: Soon after the GD, we went for lunch. After that, we were instructed to sit and wait for our turn for the Aricent interview process. At around 3 pm, my turn came and i entered the tech panel room with my resume. They greeted me with a handshake and asked for my resume. They scanned through it and started asking tech related question from CSE, the round went on for almost 45 minutes and was a comfortable one. They even helped me with some of the questions. Rather than a Q and A session, it seemed more like a discussion. These are some of the questions they asked:
- The first question was about sorting in a 2D array.
- The interviewer gave me a problem and asked me to explain the logic. Once that was done, he asked me to write the logic (in code) for the same.
- What is polymorphism? What are its types?
- Differentiate between bubble sort and merge sort.
Round 4 – Hr interview: After the technical round, I waited for the HR panel to call me. My turn came and the round was very short, only 15 mins max. These are some of the questions asked:
- How did your technical interview go?
- Why should we employ you?
- Do you like to work independently or in a team? Why?
- What motivated you to join Aricent?
- Do you have any questions for us?
That was all. HR round is simple if you are confident about your answers. In a few days, the results were announced and almost all of us who cleared the aptitude test got selected. Now I am waiting for my official letter, contacted the placement cell. They asked me to call the company and keep a check on my Aricent offer letter status.
