CGI Recruitment Process – Qualifications Criteria:
- Degree: BE/B.Tech
- Branches: CSE/IT/Information Science/ECE/Telecom
- Cut-off Marks: 65% in BE/B.Tech and 60% in 10th and 12th
- Additional Criteria: No Current Backlog
- Good Analytical and Problem solving capabilities, Ability to learn and adapt to the latest
technologies. - Exposure to Java/ .Net /C/C++/Python coding would be an added advantage.

All the above questions were of medium difficulty range with no negative marking. The overall cut-off fixed by CGI was 70 percentile. I cleared the cut-off and therefore, was eligible for the subsequent rounds.
Group Discussion :
This round was eligible for all those students who managed to pass the round 1. For the group discussion, all the participants were divided into groups, and each group is given a topic. The topics were related to everyday activities and events prevalent around society. My group was asked to discuss about “The influence of IT on the economy as a whole”
The interviewer was judging us on our level of confidence, convincing ability, and communication skills.
HR Interview or Face to Face Interview Round:
This round was not at all challenging and initially the HR asked me questions regarding my interests and key attributes I possess. Further, I was asked to rate myself in terms of teamwork, communication and interaction skills, as well as my understanding or knowledge about CGI company. Followed by the same, I was asked a few questions about computer programming including C and C++, along with details of Linux. An offer was given to me in a week concerning the training period, and a joining letter was sent after a month.

Online Written Test
The Online Test is conducted by the CGI Own portal. There is Quants, Verbal, Logical,Computer Programming and Coding section. you can study from Ansefy all the materials are provided.

Round – 2
Group Discussion
CGI is hiring at various campuses all over India. The integral part of CGI campus recruitment process is Group Discussion. CGI Just check you speaking skill and the confidence level. so, build by practicing.
People who take the GD Round will analyze the student’s interpersonal skills. Our topic was “Impact of Social media on students.” You willl be provided 10-20 minutes to discuss the given topic. The interviewer will be looking for the candidates who spoke more relevant points with confidence.
Do’s
- Take your time to think about the given topic.
- Do take pen and paper to write few pointers about the topic.
- Listen to others too and then try to speak in fluent English.
- Be confident and have a mild smile while discussing the topic with other candidates.
Don’ts
- Don’t speak randomly without a plan and structure.
- Don’t be arrogant, overaggressive or vain.
- Don’t show a lack of attention or energy.
- Don’t look at only the key speakers in the discussion.
- Don’t condemn or severely criticize anyone’s view point.

Round – 3
Technical Interview
The Technical Interview is mainly to test the knowledge of the students. All the computer fundamental and Programming Knowledge of the students are tested in this round.
After successfully clearing the Round- 2 of CGI Hiring Process, the selected students are called up for the Technical Interview Round of CGI Recruitment Process which is the Round – 3. In this round the students can expect the questions like these:
- Explain about the Final Year Project – This is the area where students should discuss each and every step about how he made his final year project. Student should be able to explain every technology used and what the project is about and why he chose this project. This is very important in the CGI Selection Process.
- Basic Coding Questions- Knowledge of Coding on C Programming & DSA is must for the CS/IT students for clearing the CGI Selection Process.

Hr Interview
