Candidate Name: Aditya (C.S Student)
University: KIIT, Bhubaneswar
Selection Status: Selected
Overall Interview Rating: 4.6/5
The whole process consisted of shortlisting based on an online test. I strongly recommend preparing for “IBM” 1. Aptitude Test 2. English Assessment Test. Concentrate on IBM Latest Question Papers. It was a little difficult to complete all the questions on time so a strategy is important. The good part is there was no negative marking. The overall level of the test was moderate. The Verbal test questions were little tough, I managed to attempt 13 questions successfully there.
The result came out on the same day and I was called for the IBM interview process the next day.
The interview process was well organized. I was among the 103 candidates for the Interview round. I was called after waiting for almost an hour to the panel. there were three seniors ready with my resume. One of them started asking me questions related to SQL(like joins), collections, multi-threading, framework architecture, development process, documentation. I managed to answer most of them with confidence but stumbled on few questions. The second person in the panel then asked me about my favorite programming language. i told them i am proficient in JAVA. He asked some very basic questions there and seemed impressed. Then i was asked some HR questions from the 3rd moderator. Some of the questions I remember are:
- Tell me something about yourself?
- Why do you want to join IBM?
- What are your limitations? What are you doing to overcome them?
- How do you rate your Learning skill from 0-10?
- Did you like the interview experience? What can be made better according to you?

Candidate Name: Mansi (E.C Student)
University Name: Galgotias University, Greater Noida
Selection Status: Selected
Overall Interview rating: 4.3/5
Hi, my name is Mansi and I did my B.tech in ECE from Galgotias University, Greater Noida. Our campus placement started in September and IBM was one of the first companies to visit our college. The whole Process took 2 long days and around 70 students got placed.
The process started with a written test with questions from Mathematics and English. The Math aptitude was a little tough and required good time management. I was aware of the time issues, therefore, I had given some mock tests so that I could give the test without any pressure. The good thing was that an on-screen calculator was present on the screen. A lot of time got saved because of this addition. The English section was easy. I am an avid English novel reader. This probably helped me attempt this section quickly.
After the exam, we were told to keep checking our emails for the result. The result came at around 7 pm and my name was in the shortlisted candidates list with the interview scheduled the next morning.
The interview round was mostly easy and a lot of us were able to clear it. Since I am from ECE, the panel asked me about my favorite ECE subject to which I responded Electronic Devices. He then asked me why I like it so much and then we started discussing some of these concepts. It was a very comfortable interview overall and felt more like a discussion rather than a stressful interrogation. He also asked some questions like calculation of resistance value and about 555 timer and its pin diagram. The HR questions were also very common like my location preference, relocation thoughts, why do I want to join IT etc. Overall it was an easy experience.
